Combating Terrorism in the Trump Era Eric Schmitt, a senior writer for the New York Times has numerous trips to the middle east and has reported on terrorism issues since 2007. Schmitt is co-author with Thom Shanker of “Counterstrike: The Untold Story of America’s Secret Campaign Against Al Qaeda” published in 2011; the book will be available for purchase and signing after the forum. He has shared in two Pulitzer Prizes with teams of New York Times reporters in 1999 and 2009.
