crime, the courts, and the challenges

Listen to the chatter and you’d think crime is spiraling out of control.
But what the facts are in the Tri-Cities will be the subject of the Badger Club’s Feb. 20 program. Kennewick Police Chief Chris Guerrero and Benton County Prosecutor Eric Eisinger will be our speakers.

Surprisingly, we’ll hear a mixed situation. Overall crime and arrests are down significantly in Benton and Franklin counties — and nationwide — since 1995. That’s true for both violent and nonviolent crimes in most cases. Yet statistics also show that conviction rates have declined, and some crimes have increased. And changes are coming that could be for the worse.  REGISTER HERE to join us on February 20.
