Republican Congressman Doc Hastings represented Eastern Washington's sprawling Fourth Congressional District from 1995 to 2015. He was first elected in the “Gingrich Revolution” of 1994. He became a close associate of both Speakers Dennis Hastert and John Boehner and achieved the unusual distinction of chairing two different House committees. . .Ethics and Natural Resources.
Hastings also served 12 years on the House Rules Committee which determines which legislation will reach the House floor and how it will be debated. He served in Congress with the current speaker, Kevin McCarthy, when he served as the Republican Majority Whip.
This is a rare opportunity for our audience to hear from Doc Hastings, who has been relatively quiet in retirement.
