Mid-Columbia Libraries and our partners are proud to welcome this year's featured author, Alexander McCall Smith, international bestselling author of "The No. 1 Ladies' Detective Agency" series and many more. Pick up a free copy of his book at your local Mid-Columbia Libraries branch throughout October while supplies last.

We will host a special presentation by McCall Smith on Tuesday, Nov. 14 at 7 pm at Columbia Basin College Gjerde Center.

Additional Mid-Columbia Reads events include an opening reception and book giveaway on Oct. 2, a book club discussion, a Highland dance workshop, a bagpipe performance, and more. Check the schedule of events for details.

The Mid-Columbia Reads literary festival encourages communities throughout the Mid-Columbia region to engage with the same books and come together to explore and celebrate the written and spoken word. We strive to build community through the collective experience of reading, thinking, and discussing ideas and themes that raise important social issues while also building future readers and writers in our region.
